The cerebellum is a structure that is located at the back of the brain, underlying the occipital and temporal lobes of the cerebral cortex. It is said that the cerebellum is about 10% of the brain's volume, but it contains over 50% of the entire total of neurons in the brain. Historically and usually, the cerebellum is considered a motor structure, because cerebellar damage leads to impairments in the motor control and posture. In addition, the majority of the cerebellum's outputs are to the parts of the motor system.
